The Head of Underwriting will oversee our client’s underwriting function, leading a team of senior and junior underwriters while managing the firm’s underwriting pipeline. This executive will play a central role in transaction evaluation, structuring, and execution, ensuring high-quality credit decisions and smooth loan closing processes. The position reports directly to the CEO.

Manage and monitor the underwriting pipeline across new transactions.
Lead and mentor the underwriting team, assigning deals and guiding underwriting execution.
Oversee due diligence, including collateral field exams, asset appraisals, and company-provided materials, to assess risks and deal merits.
Facilitate the credit approval process, including preparation of credit memoranda and participation in approvals.
Supervise legal documentation, operational onboarding, and transaction closings.

Under the supervision of the Head of Asset-Based Lending, the Asset-Based Lending (ABL) Relationship Manager identifies, cultivates, and manages relationships, serving as the primary client contact for these and other relationships for companies ranging from $10MM to $100MM in revenues, with financing needs ranging from $5M to $25MM, located throughout the Northeast including New York and New Jersey.

Plan and direct a focused calling and business development program targeting ABL borrowers, CPA firms, Turnaround Consulting Firms, Private Equity/Private Investor Groups, Investment Banks, and Law firms.
Interview applicants and request necessary information, such as financial and operating statements to evaluate loan requests, manage, structure and negotiate credit terms as well as identify other opportunities for Our Client.
Organize data and evaluate the credit worthiness of the prospective borrower according to Our Client guidelines and policies.
Prepare and maintain the required and appropriate documentation and ensure that the necessary follow-up is coordinated and accomplished on a timely basis.
